Monday 1st June, 1.30-3.30pm – Age 16yrs+ – Join Ceramic Artform Tutor Andrew McCourt for a hands-on plaster relief masterclass exploring texture, form, and surface decoration. In this session, participants will work with clay and floral materials to create detailed reliefs. You’ll begin by rolling out a clay slab, arranging and pressing floral matter into the surface, then building a clay wall around the slab in preparation for pouring plaster.
Once the plaster has cured, the clay is carefully removed to reveal the finished relief, which can then be enhanced with a light wash of acrylic paint. During the class there will be time to produce two plaster relief pieces, both of which you can take home at the end of the session.
Suitable for those interested in ceramics, surface design, and experimental making. Reminder to wear messy clothes although aprons are given out
