The museum is open from 10-11.30am and 12-4pm Monday to Saturday.
Please note the museum will be closed for lunch from 11.30am-12pm.
Visitors have FREE ENTRY to our exhibitions, tower and back garden play area.
Children should always be accompanied by an adult.

Fun Science Workshops
Part of our Summer Fayre, hosted by Fun Science, these exciting 30-minute STEM-themed workshops are packed with hands-on experiments and interactive learning.

Suitable for ages 5–12 years
Session times: 12.30pm, 1.15pm, 2pm, 2.45pm, 3.30pm
Please note that all children attending the workshops must be accompanied by an adult.
Wee Engineers
Friday 3 & Monday 6 July

Through a series of hands-on activities and demonstrations we’ll learn about steam power and find out what makes a steam engine go.

Make a Bath Bomb
Saturday 4 July

1pm & 2pm (sessions ~30 mins)
Get hands-on and create your very own fizzy bath bomb to take home!
Mix, mould and decorate using a range of ingredients and colours to make a unique creation. Watch the magic happen as your bath bomb fizzes and bubbles in water, releasing delightful scents and colours. A fun, creative activity that’s perfect for budding scientists and crafty minds alike. All materials provided.

Family Science Show: Floating & Sinking

Meet the Romans Family Workshop

What did the Romans ever do for us? Find out about some important Roman inventions; learn what it was like to be a Roman soldier in Scotland and try on some replica armour. Everyone will make a Roman pot to take home.
