Requirements:
- Minimum age: 7 years
- Maximum age: 12 years
- Maximum height: 4”11 (149.86cm)
- Strong all round dance performers who are disciplined, can take direction, and have great smiley personalities on stage
- 100% committed to rehearsals and performances from 6 November – 31 December 2026
All children must be licensed and will be required to take some time off school.
Children will be taught a dance combination at their audition to perform for the panel then will be selected or declined.
Please wear dance clothing and jazz or ballet shoes (no trainers or bare feet allowed).
No preparation is required beforehand and registration is not required.

Extra Information and FAQs
Children should come along to Airdrie Town Hall’s extension entrance (where the ramp is).
We advise that you check roadworks in and around the area that you are travelling from.
Doors open at 4.15pm.
Once the auditioning process has started, latecomers will not be permitted to audition.
Heights and ages will be checked on entrance to the building and children who meet the height and age requirements will be wrist banded and asked to wait in the foyer.
Does my child need to prepare a dance in advance?
No, all children attending the audition will be taught a dance routine.
What should my child wear to the audition?
Children should wear dance clothing – leggings or tights, leotard or non-baggy top, jazz shoes or ballet shoes (no trainers or bare feet), and no jewellery. Hair should be tied back.
How long will the audition take?
Auditions are expected to take around 2 hours but may be longer depending on the number of children auditioning.
Will I be able to purchase any refreshments at the venue?
Yes, the tea bar will be open for soft drinks, tea, coffee and confectionery.
Are parents allowed to watch the auditions?
Parents are not permitted in the hall during the audition. Parents can wait in the extension area or the lesser hall.
Can parents leave their child at the audition and come back in an hour or two?
We strongly advise that you wait in the building during the auditions. If you have to leave, please ensure that you notify a member of staff and supply a contact number that staff can reach you on.
Does my child need time off school to take part in the pantomime?
Yes, children do require time off school to take part. This will be explained in detail if you are successful at the audition.
When do rehearsals start?
Rehearsals are from Friday 6 November – Monday 23 November 2026 (there will be days off in between these dates).
We will be on holiday for part of the rehearsal period. Can my child still take part?
Children are required to attend all rehearsals and performances.
How many performances will my child be taking part in if successful?
There will be two groups of six children and each group will be given a schedule of rehearsal and performance dates.
